Donna Wilson's creative home

Donna Wilson has to be one of my all-time favourite designers. Not only does she create some of the happiest textile designs around, she also helps bring good design to the the lives of others. Her recent project at the Royal London Hospital, for example, involved painting lush green murals on the walls of the children's ward for the patients to enjoy, and she is now currently working with Aberdeen residents to design a unique tartan for the Scottish county.

This creative spirit is also carried through into the designer's home where Donna mixes bold colours and clashing patterns and vintage furniture with modern accessories.

Below are a few of my highlights from her home, including a dining room filled with vintage Ercol - swoon! Head over to The Telegraph to see the full tour.

Rifle Paper Co.

If you follow me on Instagram you'll know that I recently bought some prints from one of my all-time favourite shops, Rifle Paper Co., and it was while I was happily browsing their site that I noticed they now do wallpaper.

The collection includes paper printed with pineapples, zebras, fluro peonies and famous city landmarks among other things, so it definitely gets the thumbs up from me! Take a peek and let me know which is your fave. (You probably won't be surprised to find out that the pineapple paper is mine!)
Pineapple in Sorbet
Pineapple in Sorbet
City Toile in Parchment and Robin's Egg
Rosa in Indigo
Safari in Hunter and Blush
Peonies in Yellow
There's four colour combos for each print and you can buy 8.5" x 11" samples for $5 each - but, be warned, shipping to the UK is not cheap.

Shop the full collection at Rifle Paper Co.

A Dreamy Dutch Home

When it comes to interiors, Scandinavia often do it best - airy homes with white washed walls, the perfect backdrop to colourful art and textiles. This is certainly true of the beautiful home of Netherlands-based interior designer Sonia van der Zwaan-Barrigas, which I stumbled across this weekend. I love the mix of design-classics (Eames and Muuto to name a few) with high street pieces (the cushions are from H&M and there's some Ikea in there too), which creates a personal, unique home. What do you think?

My favourite room in the house has to be the bedroom - I love the grey wall and that sweet girl print.

A Bright and Cheery Swedish Home

Hi guys, happy Monday! I want to start the week off on a bright and cheery note so I've featured a lovely Swedish home, complete with lots of yellow accents. A nice antidote to the dull, grey skies outside!
I absolutely LOVE the yellow tiled splashback in the kitchen - what a great way to add pattern and colour to the room. I stumbled across this pretty house tour on the Hus and Hem website which has lots of lovely home tours and room ideas, so if you've got an hour to spare have a peek!

New at Muuto

Scandinavian furniture designers Muuto have released a new collection of elegantly designed furniture and accessories. There's a lovely fresh colour scheme running through the collection with plenty of light ash wood, pastel pink textiles and white accessories. Photographer Petra Bindel shot the new products and the results are wonderful.
My favourite new designs are: the 'Corky Carafe', designed by Andreas Engesvik; the 'Under the Bell' pendant lamp, designed by Iskos-Berlin; and 'The Dots' coat hooks (not shown) designed by Lars Tornoe.

Toast A/W 2012

Cosy interiors fit for autumnal weather - take a look at the latest collection from Toast.
Doesn't the floral bedlinen in the first image look beautiful matched with the striped pillows? So cosy and inviting. This is only a small selection of what's available, there's lots more on-line including wicker storage boxes, storm lanterns and chunky knit socks. Head over to their site to view their lookbook or go shopping.

91 Magazine {Autumn 2012}

As you all know the autumn issue of 91 Magazine is out and it's possibly my favourite issue yet. It's full of vintage homewares, pastel-coloured home tours, fabulous interviews with the most inspiring, creative women and lots of stationery. Love! I thought I'd share a few tear sheets with you today of one of my favourite articles in the magazine. The article is called 'My 36m²' and is an interview and home tour with Danish blogger Anna Weinreich. Anna has got the most beautiful home, full of bright pastel accents and lots of flea market finds and it was lovely reading about her home and how she put her beautiful space together.
There are lots of other inspiring articles in the magazine from bargain-hunting tips to neon DIYs. Have a read yourself here. P.S. It's also 91 Magazine's first anniversary issue - congratulations!

ON-TREND: Pink Ombré

Pink ombré is everywhere at the minute. The lovely design can be found on tablecloths, curtains, furniture, cushions, crockery and even cake! Yes, the graduated colour design has taken us by storm. Despite the intensity of the shocking-pink colour, this trend is actually very user-friendly and can be used quite subtly in a living space. I love this trend and can see it sticking around for a long time. A look that I really love, and one that is really simple to do yourself, is this wall hanging below.
I love how the simply dyed sheet looks like a piece of art. It's a very cheap to create and is easily changeable too. If you were after something a little subtler though, how about these accessories?
The storage container is from Varpunen, the wooden kitchen utensils are from Shelter Black, the cushion and curtains are from Esprit and the wicker planter is from Ikea.
What a gorgeous trend! The pretty pastel styling above is by Charlotte Love and you can see more images from this shoot on her blog. Her theme for the shoot was Pastel and Ice Cream and I think the images are LOVELY.

Rosie Brown Styling

Morning! Hope you are all well? What did you get up to over the weekend? We had plans to go to Munich's largest flea market at Riem on Saturday and then visit Neuschwanstein castle on Sunday, but unfortunately the weather had other ideas. It poured it down for two days solid so I suppose they will have to wait until next week! I hope you had more fun wherever you were? But pressing on with the day at hand and I've got some lovely images to share with you of stylist Rosie Brown's work. Rosie Brown is an art director and stylist who has worked for many interiors and lifestyle publications such as Homes & Gardens and Elle Deco. She also set up the on-line boutique Papa Stour in 2005. Here are a few images of her interior styling work.
I especially like this last image as it makes me think of lazy Sundays drinking tea and reading the paper.

Inspiring Interiors: Victoria Smith's Home

Back in April SF Girl by Bay blogger Victoria Smith shared some snaps of her beautiful home. I remember bookmarking the page straight away as I knew I would want to look at these photos again when I was ready to decorate my own space. I absolutely LOVE Victoria's bohemian style, everything she picks seems to resonate so well with me, from her colour choices, to her love of florals and to her edginess. Today I want to share a few of the images with you, both as a record for me, and as some eye candy for those that haven't yet seen it. I hope you like her space as much as I do!

Victoria has an amazing collection of oil paintings dotted around her house, they're even in her bathroom! It's this guy in her dining room though that I like the best. He adds so much character to the space.

I love the mix of texture and pattern in Victoria's home. The cow hide rug and the floral cushions in the dining room, the sheep skin rug and Moroccan leather pouffe in the living room, and the blackboard wall and colour pop blanket in the nook.
What an amazing space! To see the photographs in full head over to SF Girl by Bay. All photographs were taken by Bonnie Tsang, a lifestyle photographer based in LA. If you have instagram you should definitely follow Bonnie on there as her snaps of food and daily life are so pretty.
