91 Magazine {Autumn 2012}

As you all know the autumn issue of 91 Magazine is out and it's possibly my favourite issue yet. It's full of vintage homewares, pastel-coloured home tours, fabulous interviews with the most inspiring, creative women and lots of stationery. Love! I thought I'd share a few tear sheets with you today of one of my favourite articles in the magazine. The article is called 'My 36m²' and is an interview and home tour with Danish blogger Anna Weinreich. Anna has got the most beautiful home, full of bright pastel accents and lots of flea market finds and it was lovely reading about her home and how she put her beautiful space together.
There are lots of other inspiring articles in the magazine from bargain-hunting tips to neon DIYs. Have a read yourself here. P.S. It's also 91 Magazine's first anniversary issue - congratulations!

Dreamy Vintage Bedrooms

Today I spent an afternoon happily catching up on my favourite blogs and pinning over at Pinterest. It was a productive session and I've now got lots of ideas of how I want to decorate my flat. The prettiest of the lot has to be these bedrooms below. Feminine and full of vintage charm.
I love the idea of using a favourite item of clothing as a permanent display object. I've seen a lot of rooms where pretty dresses have been used and I think they add a lot of interest and colour to a space.
The reason I've included this last image is that I LOVE the contrast between the dark, rough floor and the dainty lace throw. So pretty!
You can see all these images over on my Pinterest boards at pinterest.com/laurablanksby.

Summer Pastels

At the back of my diary lives a list I call the BIG LIST. On it are things that I like but can't afford just yet. So there are things like a Falcon enamelware bake set, an Ercol studio couch and a set of Diptyque candles amongst other things. A good thing to have, you might think, never having to worry when someone asks what you want for your birthday/Christmas etc, except that the list grows almost on a weekly basis...eek! The latest addition to the list comes in the form of a pastel-hued satchel from leather specialists, The Cambridge Satchel Company.
These new pastel satchels are available in lemon, rose pink, lavender and duck egg blue but are strictly limited edition so you'd better make up your mind sharpish about which one you want! It's 100% the rose pink for me but I have a bit of a thing for lavender as well at the minute since buying this pretty Topshop nail polish. Click here to view the full pastel collection.

If you live around the Cambridge area, Cambridge Satchel Co. are having a Clearance Sale this Saturday and Sunday (11th & 12th August) at the Guild Hall so it might be worth popping down to grab a bargain. If not, the company are also offering free UK delivery on all satchels. For details just head over to their on-line site.

Christmas Wish List No.18

Road trips, ice cream, soda, pretzels & beer, drive-in movies, midnight bonfires, afternoon naps and water balloon fights...
Well, aren't these just fabby? Not only are they pastel-coloured and pretty, they also spell out a few of my favourite things! It must be fate. They are made by stationery shop One Fine Dae and you can get your mitts on them from Etsy. If you are still frantically Christmas shopping, these would make an ACE stocking filler.

Sweet Pastels at Ikea

What a fine Friday morning it is here! The sun is streaming through the windows and I am up and about at a very reasonable hour (very unlike me). Just the perfect time to share with you some beautifully styled images from those lovely people at Livet Hemma, Ikea's sister site. I have blogged before about how inspired I am by Livet Hemma, so many ideas, tips, photos and all the latest product news. Their latest editions, below, just make me love them more.
Today's images are very 'me' indeed. A backdrop of white, brightened up by fresh colours in the bedlinen, flowers and vintage pieces. Note the lovely wooden stool and pale pink lace shirt.
These sets really remind me of the styling by Atlanta Bartlett and Dave Coote in their book Pale & Interesting, which I bought just a couple of weeks ago. So relaxed and calm, but with an overriding vintage feel. Lots of neutrals, whites, greys, pastels brought to life with a flash of colour in the soft furnishings. It's a great ideas book, get one if you don't have it already.

But back to today, key pieces from Livet Hemma's room set are the white SOCKERÄRT vase (also available in blue), the KAJSA BLAD bedlinen and the STYRSÖ simple white wire tables which come in a set of three.
