Introducing Lisa Bengtsson

The last few months have seen my tastes in interiors alter quite dramatically. Ordinarily a vintage lover with lots of floral patterns, I have surprised myself as I have come to love contemporary interiors. Also, having found blogs such as A Merry Mishap and Weekday Carnival, I am beginning to love modern design more and more. So when I came across Swedish illustrator Lisa Bengtsson, I instantly fell in love with her work. Not only are her prints great statement pieces for your walls, they will also put a smile on your face too.

Below are my favourite pieces from her collection, Betty and Hugo - a pair of dachshunds in a bow and bow-tie! I know, so cool.
These are part of Lisa's 'Tillsammans' collection (Swedish for 'Together') which includes four other designs. You can buy these at Hus & Hem, a great on-line store selling Scandinavian gifts, textiles and furnishings.

A Compact London Flat

Hi all, happy Monday! Today I want to share with you a beautifully decorated London flat which proves that you don't need a large space to have a beautiful home. This compact space has been given an airy feel using lots of white and soft greys, with hints of neon pink to keep it fun. It's possibly one of my favourite homes I've featured on High Street Home so I hope you like it! My favourite piece in the flat has to be the Ercol 203 Windsor Armchair which has been modernised with a mid-grey fabric - a great piece that mixes old with new.
What do you think? I love everything about this space from the neutral colour scheme to the vintage touches and bright pink accents. And that kitchen is EXACTLY what my future kitchen will look like!

Just a quick post to wish you all a Happy New Year! Thank you all for your support over the past twelve months - it really does mean a lot to me. Here's to a great year ahead!
P.S I found this image on the Remain Simple tumblr page - my latest on-line obsession. It's a mix of interiors, fashion, food, art and architecture, all wonderfully curated by blogger Kathryn - have a look when you have a spare five minutes as I think you'll love it too!

Introducing OYOY

Hello, hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to NYE! I've had a great break, but must say I'm glad to be back blogging again :-)

Today I want to share with you a new Danish store called OYOY. The recently-established store has a wonderful mix of Scandinavian and Japanese-inspired homewares and I think you are going to love it.

The company takes its name from the letters OY which are written on every Danish aeroplane. These letters are well-known in Denmark to signify Danish nationality, which is why it was chosen. OYOY's vision is to create fun, innovative products that focus on form, function and colour. This philosophy can be seen in all their products, which includes textiles, storage and accessories. Here are a few of my favourite pieces from the collection.
I love the mix of natural beech with bright colour - especially in the Tippetop Candleholders above. Another favourite is the Honeycomb Bedlinen, an item that I will be buying in the new year. I've only shown a small selection of what's available, so if this has tickled your fancy, head over to their on-line site. There's more cushions, tea towels, storage boxes, placemats, hooks and even a cute Christmas Elf... Happy Shopping!

A Dreamy Dutch Home

When it comes to interiors, Scandinavia often do it best - airy homes with white washed walls, the perfect backdrop to colourful art and textiles. This is certainly true of the beautiful home of Netherlands-based interior designer Sonia van der Zwaan-Barrigas, which I stumbled across this weekend. I love the mix of design-classics (Eames and Muuto to name a few) with high street pieces (the cushions are from H&M and there's some Ikea in there too), which creates a personal, unique home. What do you think?

My favourite room in the house has to be the bedroom - I love the grey wall and that sweet girl print.

English Romantic

I've been a fan of independent homeware and textile store Chocolate Creative for over a year now and love the graphic prints and bright colours they sell. However, when I took a look at the new English Romantic collection I was completely blown away. The collection, though small - only cushions and door knobs at the minute - is truly stunning. The products feature serene and typically English scenes such as woodlands and lakes, but still retain a modern feel. Here are a few images of the new pieces, I hope you like them as much as I do.
One of these cushions would look great scattered amongst lots of plain ones on a sofa. From left the designs are: Blue Lake, Red Lake, Vintage Beach and Woodlands. I love the colours in the Blue Lake design, so pretty!

Now for the door knobs.
Don't they look great against a dark charcoal background? Thank you Chocolate Creative, what a stunning collection!
